Administration of heterogeneous Unix workstation clusters: Venus is an architecture for Unix clusters with administration tools which makes heterogeneous workstation cluster appear as homogeneous computing network with transparent usage of resources. For cluster administrators Venus offers efficient administration tools. User changes, distinguished software distribution and the integration of new clients are accomplished by simple commands. Users may log in on any workstation of the cluster with a networkwide valid password and directly access any authorized user and project data, no matter where these are physically saved.
